He’s gearing up to judge this year’s Strictly Come Dancing hopefuls alongside Craig Revel Horwood who’s tipped to be the new lead adjudicator.

But it appears Bruno Tonioli needs to work on his own finger placement as he was seen scoffing a batted cod with his hands during a boozy lunch on Sunday.

The Italian critic, 60, joined interior designer Kelly Hoppen for fish and chips in west London where he unbuttoned his blue shirt to bask in the summer sun.

After their very animated lunch, Bruno tried to pop inside and pay without Kelly seeing him, but the waiter said he would have to pay outside.

As the waiter came over with the machine, Kelly, 57, protested and Bruno jokingly made a fist at her and blew her a kiss.

After leaving the restaurant, they popped into designer clothes shop American Vintage before driving off in Bruno’s personalised-plated blue Mercedes sports car.

According to The Mirror, the 51 year-old is being lined-up by TV bosses to replace out-going judge, Len Goodman.

A TV insider told the publication: ‘Craig is the obvious choice for the head judge job in many respects. He’s been there from the beginning and is part of the fabric of the show.

‘But there is a sticking point. They are wary of how the public would view Craig, because he is so different to Len, so they’re keen for Anton to be on the panel too.

‘Anton is very much the ‘grannies’ favourite’. His personality is more in line with Len’s. But they feel it is quite a leap to make from pro dancer to head judge, so it’s unlikely he’d get the head judge title.’

MailOnline have contacted representatives for both Mr Revel-Horwood and Strictly Come Dancing, but are yet to receive a response.
